Churches on MLK

In high school, I documented churches on Martin Luther King Dr. in St. Louis. The project reveals the juxtaposition of closed, dilapidated, vacant and in-service churches housed next to liquor stores, vacant lots and run-down buildings. It challenges the idea that on a street that is named after a man who was a pillar of hope and change, exists such calamity and destruction. Nonetheless, throughout documenting the series, I found that churchgoers are still fervent in attending services on MLK Drive Sunday after Sunday.
